SMART. EASY. COOL.
HYDROCHILL®
Southwest Greens of Jacksonville is proud to develop and install artificial turf that saves Jacksonville families and businesses money and time giving you the ability to focus on the things that are most important. By implementing our modern HydroChill® cooling technology, weve taken on the summer heat in an intelligent and easy way. A basic addition to the turfs filling provides a mean cooling range of 30-50 degrees and works on its own when wet by irrigation, rainfall, and dew.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
EVAPORATIVE COOLING TECHNOLOGY
Perspiration is a natural means of thermoregulation known as evaporative cooling. Evaporation of moisture from the skins surface has a cooling effect. Similarly, HydroChill® has proven to cool artificial turf surfaces through the same principle. As the turf surface is heated up by solar radiation, water kept in the HydroChill® turf is released. Evaporating moisture removes heat, creating a cooler, more enjoyable surface for the players.
- HydroChill® implements moisture to produce a cooling effect. Rainfall, dew, and irrigation will help keep your lawn cool for days, subject to local weather conditions.
- HydroChill® can be incorporated into most of Southwest Greens' infilled lawn systems.
- HydroChill® will not alter the stability or warranty of Southwest Greens products.
- HydroChill® is UV-resistant and needs to be re-treated every two years for max effectiveness.
WHEN IS IT MOST EFFECTIVE?
The temperature outside doesnt always determine surface temperature. Other natural elements determine an objects surface temperature, including cloud cover, wind, the suns angle, and other elements.
HydroChill® gives you maximum benefit when the sun is nearest the Earth, as shown in the solar radiation calendar. In the summer months in Jacksonville, the sun rests high in the sky, causing surfaces to absorb more energy, resulting in hotter temperatures. The Earths spin is likewise responsible for hourly variations in sunlight and making HydroChill® most efficient during the hotter time of a clear day when most needed.
