Southwest Greens of Jacksonville, along with parent company Shaw Industries, announces the launch of a patented HydroChill™ pre-coated filling. The new pre-coated product adds to the success of HydroChill™ Home, an innovative cooling system launched in October 2013. Made to protect against the heat on synthetic lawn and landscape surfaces, HydroChill is the first heat reduction product of its kind and one of the only solutions in the business to produce substantial and sustained temperature differences.

Although results will depend on geographic location and local conditions such as cloud cover, humidity and wind fluctuations, HydroChill Home has achieved 30°F to 50°F lower surface temperatures compared to a regular artificial lawn surface when checked by an infrared thermometer. The technology is applied to a artificial turf and, when charged by water, removes heat from the turf system leaving a cooler, more comfortable surface. The cooling effect of HydroChill Home after rainfall or watering can persist for days depending on local conditions and is most dramatic when surface temperatures are hottest. HydroChill is most effective when the sun is closest to the earth’s surface leading to temperature differences of 50 degrees in real world, third party validated outdoor tests.
